C3 UN SDGs Panel Series: Aligning the development of Food and Water security with the UN SDGs

It’s a challenging but an exciting time for the region when it comes to water and food security. Although we face high levels of water and food scarcity, David Ramos Álvarez - HSBC, Ole Kristian Sivertsen - Desert Control and Robert Kupstas - Pure Harvest Smart Farms believe that the ecosystem’s efforts are converging towards innovative solutions that are being put forward by entrepreneurs along with the support of the private and public sectors. With COP 27 and COP 28 taking place in the MENA region over the next two years, the attention will go to moving from collaboration in principle to collaboration in action.

About the C3 UN SDGs Panel Series: The series brought together experts and representatives from the Alumni on the C3 Impact Accelerator - powered by HSBC, to discuss and debate the role of business in engaging with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals over four facilitated panel events. 

The discussions were centered around three main themes: 1) the role of business in engaging with the SDGs, 2) how businesses can maximise their impact, and 3) the key enablers and barriers for business in delivering upon the SDGs.
